NSW: Seven people charged following anti-Cheney protest

Seven people have been charged by police following a violent scuffle with officers
at a rally opposing the Sydney visit of US Vice President DICK CHENEY.

NSW police say six males and a female .. aged between 16 and 53 .. have been charged
with a range of offences including assaulting police .. obstructing traffic .. malicious
damage .. and inciting crowd violence.

A 34-year-old man was released without charge.

The eight people were arrested as they attempted to break through a police line …
